Present a Slide Show

What You'll Learn: Now, finally you get a chance to play your presentation... Have fun!

If you are in the Slide Sorter view, select the first slide of your presentation by clicking on that slide (Figure 1). Or. if you are in the Slide View. select the first slide of your presentation by using the scroll bar on the right-hand side of the screen (Figure 2).

The slide show will begin from which ever slide is selected.

Figure 1. You can select the first slide to present when in the Slide Sorter view.

Figure 2. You can choose the first slide to present when in the Slide View, as well.

Begin the slide show by clicking on the Slide Show icon in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.

The full-screen presentation appears on the screen.

Click the left mouse button, or press the space bar, to move forward through the rest of your slides.

If presenting in a darkened room, or in a classroom in which you may be walking around, get in the habit of pressing the space bar on the keyboard. It makes a much better target in the dark, and is easier to press even in the light.

Some of the builds or preset animations may appear only on the first mouse click; additional mouse clicks may be necessary to build the points on the slide.

To move backwards, use the Up Arrow key.

The Up Arrow key will display the previous slide. When "backing into" a previous slide that has animations preset, the animations won't be displayed. Animations are seen only when progressing forwards through a presentation.

To exit your presentation, use the Escape [Esc] key.

Pressing the Esc key will return you to the view that was being used prior to beginning the slide show: either Slide View or Slide Sorter View. The slide show will automatically close when the last slide is displayed and the left mouse button is clicked or space bar pressed.
