Once
PowerPoint opens, you will see a white-colored pane
on the right-hand side of the screen; this is the New
Presentation window. Choose the presentation
you want to open, or choose to create a new presentation.
In this case, choose Blank Presentation under
the New category. |
The New
Presentation window is an option new to
the 2000 and 2002 versions of PowerPoint. If you
don't want the window open right now, click the
small "x" just to the right of the phrase
New Presentation; the window can also be disabled
completely by clicking from the main menu Tools
| Option, then click the View tab.
Uncheck the phrase Startup Task Pane.
The next time you enter PowerPoint, the Open
Presentation window won't appear.
Now
that we're here, though, take a look at the options
presented to you. You can start a new presentation,
open an old presentation, open a PowerPoint template,
and access numerous other "start up" functions.
This list will change as you use PowerPoint more
and more. The window can be a real time saver,
as long as you don't mind it getting in the way
from time to time... |
