Develop
a Bullet Slide
What
You'll Learn: Now
that you've opened
PowerPoint, started
a file, colored
the slide background, added
and edited some text, and added
some new slides to your presentation, it's now
time to flesh out the last slide you made by adding
some bullets to it. If your slide still isn't open,
go ahead and open
a file and create a
new slide.

Add
a title to your slide by clicking on the "Click
on the add title" box and typing a title
of your choice. |

text box with a blinking cursor as you click on
the area to add a title. As you type the title,
the text appears in the box.
This skill
is overviewed in greater detail in a prior lesson, Add
and Manage Text. |

Add
the first bullet point by clicking on the "Click
to add text" box, as shown below in Figure

|
You'll
see a text box with a blinking cursor as you click
on the area to add text. As you type, you'll see
your text appear in the text area, as shown in Figure
2.
This phrase "Click
to Add Text" is called a placeholder,
and doesn't appear when you display your presentation.
It's merely a visual marker, telling you that
you can add text at that point on the slide. |

In
the next few steps, we'll add more bullets, and
then order them hierarchically. For now, type "First-Level
Bullet Point, Number One", then press Enter. |
A
bullet point will appear in front of your text
and the cursor will move down to the next line
ready for you to add the next bullet point. Don't
worry about the size and format of the bullet just
yet; you can alter both later.

Type "First-Level
Bullet Point, Number Two", then press Enter. |
A
bullet point will appear in front of your text and
the cursor will move down to the next line ready
for you to add the next bullet point. |
