Add and Manage Text

What You'll Learn: Now that you've opened PowerPoint, started a file, and colored the background of your slides, it's now time to add and manage your text.

To add the title, click in the "click to add title" box, as shown in graphic 1 below.

Once clicked upon, a text box appears with a blinking cursor, ready for you to type. In graphic 2 below, this is indicated by the fuzzy rectangle with the white circles (called "handles"). The text you are about to type will be placed directly inside this rectangle.

Type the words "This Is Your Title..." -- or any title of your own choosing -- as the title of the presentation.

You'll see the text as you type it in the rectangular title field.

Click elsewhere on the slide to close out the title field.

The fuzzy border around the title filed disappears; the title is finalized.

To alter the title, click on the text of your title. Change the text as you see fit, then click outside the title field to finalize the title.

You'll see the title in final form. You can change the title as often as you want.
