PC's Faculty Development Lab

Providence College has a new Faculty Development Lab!

Located in Feinstein 205, this lab is earmarked solely for faculty development and training. Built during the Summer of 2006 via contributions from Academic Affairs, Academic Media Services, Information Technology, and the Instructional Technology Development Program, the presence of this resource represents a significant step forward in supporting faculty who want to incorporate aspects of technology in their coursework.

You will have to have your ID card prepped beforehand by Gene Robbins (Harkins 400, x 2767). Should take only a minute or two...

  • Access to the Lab is on a 24/7 basis, whenever Feinstein is open.
  • The Faculty Development Lab is maintained by the Instructional Technology Development Program (ITDP) solely for faculty training and development, pursuant to their efforts at incorporating instructional technology.
  • The Lab is comprised of five workstations and an instructor's station, one SmartBoard and a projector.
  • The Lab is provided for the convenience of faculty who wish to develop digitally-based materials for use in their courses, to develop digital audio and video products, to check their email, and to access ANGEL and the Internet.
  • The Lab is not available for student access or use.
  • Because the provision of faculty workshops is the primary purpose of the room, scheduling for workshops by the ITDP takes precedence and seating is prioritized for workshop participants during the time of said workshop(s).
  • The ITDP's workshop schedule can be seen at http://itdp.providence.edu/training/Training_06_07.htm.
  • Workshop schedules are subject to change without notice.
  • Should seats be free during any workshop, faculty should feel free to enter quietly and be productive, even during workshops.
  • Feel free to bring your lunch, snacks, dinner, or coffee...
Should you have questions about the Lab, contact Michael J. Fimian at x1832 or ITDP@Providence.edu.
