I had an interview yesterday for a possible spring internship. After my rant about dressing like myself at the job fair, I decided I should stick to what I said. I wanted to put my own theory to test by doing it in reality. I decided to wear brown pants, something a lot more comfortable with a white button up short sleeve shirt. I know some of you might be reading this and think that I didn’t really change much, but believe me this is much more my style. I can wear this outfit outside the interview, and actual have worn it to class a few times. These clothes put me at ease, I talked more freely without feeling the need to be so formal. I was able to relax and just talk. I wasn’t putting on a show or conforming to the rules of the wall. I minimized the gap between the real me and work me. I challenge everyone to try to do this. And in case you where wondering, I was offered the internship, so I guess it paid off.
