Davis-funded Projects
With support from the Davis Educational Foundation, the Instructional Technology Development Program (ITDP) and the Faculty Technology Program Review Committee (FTPRC) distributed approximately $150,000 across a three- year period, from Fall 2002 to Fall 2005. These resources were used to underwrite faculty efforts at incorporating instructional technology in their coursework. Some dozens of solo, mentor, and collaborative projects have been funded during the Davis Project life.
The Process. Using electronically-published guidelines, Providence College faculty developed proposals which were submitted online; these in turn were reviewed by the FTPRC. This body determined the status of the projects (funded vs. unfunded) in light of established criteria, and disbursed financial resources through Mr. Charles Haberle's office, the Office of the Vice President of Academic Administration. Projects, characterized as either Solo, Mentor, or Collaborative in nature, lasted (generally) one year. An interim report was required documenting progress and, occasionally, highlighting impediments to said progress. A final report was due upon termination of the project. These are the reports that are accessed via this page.
The Project Types. Project
types for the Davis-funded program were traditionally comprised of Solo,
Mentor/Mentee, and Collaborative projects. The links to project applications and reports are organized below in two ways: both by the Type of Project, and by the Date of Project.
The Projects. Below
are links to the proposals
that were submitted and funded; all were supported
by the Davis Educational Foundation during the 2002-2005 project period. Those Projects that have been completed and for which a final report has been submitted have a report linked to the report icon; some third-year projects have not been completed as yet, and thus do not have reports to display. Some minor editing of proposal and reports was conducted for presentation purposes.
