This course's Angel learning environment provides message boards and e-mail for all course participants, readings in authoritative literature and periodicals, drop-boxes for papers, web links, documents for the course, self-study assignments, case research and writing assistance, and PowerPoint resources. Angel also has message boards for extra participation credit, and provides course and calendar updates. In Angel you will find daily participation grades, case grades, lab grades, etc. I will provide electronic written feedback on your daily classroom performance and assignment submissions within the Angel drop-box and gradebook systems. To access Angel log-in at http://angel.providence.edu. E-mail Protocol: Messages I send to the class will be sent through the Angel e-mail system which is under the "In-Touch" tab. Any e-mail messages you send me must be through the Angel system. Please do not send me e-mail messages outside of the Angel system. If you send all of your messages within the Angel system, you will have a complete record in one place of all of your communications in this course, even if you delete the messages in your regular e-mail account or change accounts. You must forward Angel e-mail to an e-mail account (providence.edu, hotmail, AOL, Yahoo) that you will read regularly! To forward your Angel e-mail, go to"My Settings" on the left margin, select "System Settings," and scroll down to "Mail Settings." I suggest the setting "Forward my course mail and mark as read in course." You can read your course mail in Angel at any time from any web connection if you keep this setting because Angel maintains an archive of old messages. This course is designed to prepare you for the professional world of work. Electronic communications are an important skill in today's global business world. Therefore, you are responsible for reading your e-mail regularly between class meetings. If my e-mail messages to you continually bounce back due to your e-mail account being full or inactive or disabled due to disciplinary action or a lack of virus protection, you will be penalized on your grade at my discretion. Only registered course members are authorized to use this Angel course space. You are not authorized to give your password to someone else; violations will be considered a violation of ethical standards under course policies. For case research you should consult the vast electronic resources available through the Library's home page at http://www.providence.edu/library. For general WWW links to accounting and financial resources, I recommend Bob Jensen's Bookmarks for Accounting, Finance, and Business as the most comprehensive web site available for accounting information on the web. His site is updated regularly. You can find it at http://www.trinity.edu/rjensen/bookbob.htm.
